Protecting People and Planet

Commercialkongsberg

Named after KONGSBERG’s own line, this branded film for the Norwegian technology group carries its purpose — protecting people and planet — through imagery rather than argument: ribbons of coloured light streaming low across an open sea toward an offshore installation on the horizon. 3D animation, environments, motion graphics and compositing do the work, and the piece sits in Terminal FX’s commercial and branded-content portfolio.

Abstract graphic elements are deceptively hard to marry to real water. The ribbons have to obey the shot’s perspective and depth, thinning and defocusing as they run away from camera, or they flatten into a sticker laid over the frame. They need to read against a cold, low-contrast marine sky while staying inside a brand’s palette, and their light has to spill somewhere — onto spray, into haze, across the swell — so the sea appears to acknowledge them. The atmosphere itself carries the scale: distance haze, cloud density and the exact fall-off of a grey horizon are what make an installation kilometres away feel kilometres away. Corporate storytelling of this kind lives or dies on that restraint, which is the register our environment and motion work is built for.
