Promo for Islamic Solidarity Games

Minarets, a floodlit dome and a sky full of stars: this promo for the Islamic Solidarity Games — the multinational multisport event organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation — is carried by CG architecture, night lighting, a travelling light element and graphic design. Environments, 3D animation, motion graphics and compositing make up Terminal FX’s contribution, which belongs to our commercial and branded-content portfolio.

Architecture is unforgiving subject matter, and Islamic architecture doubly so: the geometry is precise, the ornament repeats in ways the eye checks automatically, and a proportion that is slightly wrong looks wrong to everyone before they can say why. Building it in CG means real attention to profile and pattern, stone that reflects rather than glows under floodlight, and lighting that keeps a warm building legible against a deep blue night without crushing the detail in the shadows. A low camera looking up the minarets is what sells the scale, so the model has to hold up close to the lens. Add a streak of light crossing frame and the compositing has to bind it to the scene — glow, atmosphere, a hint of interaction — before any event branding lands on top. Sport promos are short and loud; this one asks for elegance instead, which is a discipline we enjoy.
