Obolon commercial 2017

This 30-second 2017 commercial is for Obolon, the Kyiv-based Ukrainian brewer. Its poster frame is the closing packshot: a bottle of Obolon Svitle against a golden background with the line Справжнє пиво твоєї Батьківщини (“Real beer of your homeland”) and the mandatory health warning on alcohol. Terminal FX published the spot on its Vimeo channel in 2017 and tagged its work as motion design, animation, compositing, VFX and 3D.

The packshot is where a beer commercial closes the sale. The bottle has to be exact in shape, label and glass, the condensation and bubbles have to look cold and fresh, and the logo and slogan have to land with room for the warning text below. Whether the bottle is photographed, built in 3D or both, lighting and compositing make it the most polished frame of the spot.
