Making of MoccoLatte Commercial

Commercial

This is not the finished MoccoLatte commercial but the making-of behind it — the coffee drink’s spot laid open so that raw, untextured renders run alongside the graded final frames. It walks through the CG product visualization, FX simulation and compositing stages that produced the broadcast version.

Breakdowns are worth publishing because they show how little of a finished frame arrives in one piece. A draped curtain begins as a cloth simulation with no surface on it at all; the hanging sign, the lettering and the pack are modelled, shaded and lit as separate elements; and only in compositing do the layers, shadows, motion graphics and grade combine into something that looks photographed rather than computed. Presenting that honestly means keeping the passes in register frame for frame, so a viewer can read exactly what each stage contributed and where the look was actually decided. Showing the process rather than only the result is part of how Terminal FX talks about its commercial and advertising work.
