Lakomka commercial

This 30-second Lakomka commercial is set in a field of tall sunflowers. The poster frame shows a boy at a table with a bowl of sunflower seeds while a sunflower beside him wears red sunglasses. Terminal FX published the spot on its Vimeo channel in 2017 and tagged its work as retouching, motion design, compositing and 3D.

Giving a plant a personality in a live-action spot is a small effect with a big job. The added element — here a pair of sunglasses on a flower head — has to track with the flower as it sways, pick up the same sunlight and shadow as the real petals around it, and sit at the right focus so it reads as part of the photographed scene. Retouching and compositing keep the frame bright and clean, which is what a snack commercial aimed at families needs.
