Commercial showreel

Fronted by a hot-air balloon drifting over mountain cloud, the studio’s commercial showreel compiles selected advertising work: visual effects, 3D animation, product visualization, environments and compositing across brand spots. It is a curated cross-section of the Terminal FX commercial portfolio.

Most of what a commercial reel actually contains is invisible. Skies get replaced so a grey shoot day matches the boards; rigs, wires, safety gear and stray signage get painted out; a location gets extended with matte painting or CG so it reads as somewhere bigger than the block it was filmed on. Then there are the shots that announce themselves — a hero object built and lit in CG, an environment assembled from scratch, an element simulated because it could never be staged safely. Advertising rewards precision over spectacle: a brand’s colour, a product’s exact proportions and a client’s eye for detail all sit in frame at full size, and nothing survives a hundred viewings unless it is genuinely right. Those are the disciplines this reel is meant to demonstrate.
