Commercial for Zhivinka Yogurt

A second Zhivinka commercial in the Terminal FX portfolio, this one keeping the camera on the food itself — yogurt, fruit and cereal arranged in the bowl and shot close — with CG product visualization, food and liquid simulation and compositing carrying the spot.

Tabletop is a discipline of its own. Yogurt has to pour and settle with the right viscosity, thick enough to hold a ripple and wet enough to catch a highlight, and anything dropped into it needs a simulation that behaves the way real fruit would, splash and all. Because the lens sits inches from the subject, every error is magnified: a shading slip in the surface sheen, a track that drifts two pixels, a reflection of the rig curving around the rim of the bowl. The result comes out of simulation, patient lookdev, rotoscoping and compositing done at a scale where nothing can be hidden — food work that has to make someone hungry, which is the standard Terminal FX holds this kind of advertising to.
