The Best of Visual Effects Breakdown is a reel of just over two minutes that Terminal FX published on its Vimeo channel in 2017. The studio’s own description lists what it covers: visual effects, computer-generated characters, CG doubles, animation, compositing and FX.
A breakdown reel shows the work behind a finished frame rather than the frame alone. Each shot is taken apart into the layers that build it — the photographed plate, CG characters and doubles, simulated effects and the composite that joins them — so a producer or supervisor can see what was captured on set and what was made afterwards. That transparency is the point of the format, and these are the disciplines the studio still works in today.
