Aim High

Aim High is an American action-comedy web series that ran from 2011 to 2013, centered on a high-school student who secretly doubles as a trained government operative. Produced by McG, it stars Jackson Rathbone and Aimee Teegarden and premiered on Facebook as a “social series” before its second season moved to Crackle.

Short-form episodic action carries a particular problem: feature-scale gags on a television schedule. A spy comedy asks for gunfire enhancement and digital squibs, rig and wire removal behind fight choreography, screen and interface comps for surveillance hardware, and set extensions that turn an ordinary suburban location into somewhere considerably more exotic. Because episodes land back to back, the tracking, roto and compositing pipeline matters as much as any single showpiece, and consistency across a season becomes its own craft. Terminal FX supplied visual effects and animation to the series within its wider film, television and commercial portfolio.
